Apple has just released another minor update to its firmware. The new iOS 6.0.2 is out for all iOS devices and now you would be wondering whether this firmware can be jailbroken. Well folks the good news is that; yes, iOS 6.0.2 can be jailbroken. Here is how to jailbreak iOS 6.0.2 using redsnow 0.9.15b3.

iOS 6.0.2 which is a minor upgrade fixes some wireless network problem relating to iPhone 5 and the iPad mini. Those of you who have these devices should go ahead and download iOS 6.0.2 but if you are a jailbreak-guy then I suggest waiting for an untethered jailbreak.

Well the good news for those folks who own A4 devices is that iOS 6.0.2 can be jailbroken using redsnow 0.9.15b3. So folks go ahead and follow the guide on how to jailbreak iOS 6.0.2.

Note:

This is a tethered jailbreak so you will need to “Just boot” every time you restart your iOS device.

This jailbreak will work for pre A5 devices (iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G only)

Download Redsnow 0.9.15b3

Download iOS 6

Download iOS 6.0.2

Procedure To Jailbreak iOS 6.0.2

STEP 1: Download redsnow 0.9.15b3 and iOS 6 from the link above.

STEP 2: Connect your iPhone, iPod touch to your computer and place it in DFU mood.

STEP 3: Open and run Redsnow 0.9.15b3

STEP 4: Click Extras > Select IPSW, and select the iOS 6.0 firmware for the device you want to jailbreak (make sure redsnow identifies your build). Then get back to the main screen.

STEP 5: On the main screen click “jailbreak” and on the following screen make sure “Cydia” is checked. Now click on “next”.

STEP 6: Redsnow will now jailbreak your firmware for your iPhone or iPod touch. Let it complete.

STEP 7: Once the jailbreak is complete and your on iPhone’s or iPod touch’s lock screen, place it in DFU mood.

STEP 8: Now on the main redsnow screen click “Extras” followed by “Just Boot”

STEP 9: A pineapple logo should appear and it will reboot.

STEP 10: Once the reboot is complete you are done. Your iPhone or iPod touch will be jailbroken on iOS 6.0.2.
